At Robert F. Kennedy’s gravesite is the following inscription:
“It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped each time a man stands up for an ideal or acts to improve the lot of others or strikes out against injustice. He sets forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest wall of oppression and resistance.”
I believe the treatment and in particular the recovering community are being challenged on several fronts. The question of anonymity. The question of Medication Assisted Treatment. And more. Cases are being made for change. Words like stigma, evidence-based, etc. are becoming slowly but most certainly skewed to fit a certain agenda. My hope is to keep an open mind, pause when agitated, but then act upon what I feel in my heart is right and true. So that is what I will do.
Please enjoy Independence Day safely.
Love, E
